She was born somewhere
between the river and the storm.
A girl who learned the language of silence,
Of wind across dry grass
Of horses breathing in the dusk.
Her hands could weave sweet grass
Or fix a broken fence.
Her skin glows from sunlight
And her denim carries the imprint of her days;
soft, strong, alive with movement.
She sang to the stars,
and when the rains came,
she danced barefoot in the dark,
indigo under the moonlight.

She carries the weather inside of her; calm, fierce and full of grace.
She wears grace like dust; everywhere, effortless, unstoppable.
